Highfield Cottage is a delightful spacious 3 double bedroom cottage, with its generous sized garden and summer house, and is located in the former grounds of Highfield Hall. The cottage is approached by a private lane in a quiet farming setting, with the occasional thud of willow on cork from the neighbouring local cricket ground. Relax in peace and comfort with easy to reach local amenities.

This former gardener's cottage, with its boot room to accommodate the dirtiest of walking boots, is nestled on the very skirt of the historic market town of Leek. The town boasts interesting shops, local produce, fine local dining, park and leisure facilities and the near by Roaches tower above the Tittesworth Reservoir and visitors centre. The Roaches are ideal for walking, climbing (providing some of the best grit stone climbing in the area), and, if lucky enough, for spotting the famous wallaby population.Whatever you are looking for in a holiday it's all accessible "Be in the heart of it all, be in Leek"

Explore stately homes and gardens like Styal Country Park, Tatton Park, Gawsworth Hall (with its open air theatre), Haddon Hall and Chatsworth. Wind your way through outstandingly beautiful scenery by foot or cycle at Dove Dale, The Manifold Valley and High Peak. Delve into history with the close by Brindley's Water Mill and the famous Potteries. Take a miniature steam train ride along the eastern shore of Rudyard Lake, (which gave its name to Rudyard Kipling) or full steam ahead on the real thing with the Churnet Valley Light Railway or catch a tram ride at the Crich Tramway Village nr Matlock. Rummage to your hearts content through the charming shops in Leek, Buxton, Ashbourne and Macclesfield. Not forgetting to sample the endless cafes, restaurants and welcoming pubs along the way. Leek known as "The Queen of The Moorlands", with much of its art and architecture influenced by the famous William Morris founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Only a five minute walk away from the cottage is Brindley's Water Mill Museum. This mid eighteen-century working corn mill was designed by James Brindley, the canal engineer and millwright who pioneered the canal systems in Britain. Leek, a former silk and textile manufacturing town, now offers a wide range of shops including many antique outlets, furniture shops, cafes, real ale pubs, and indoor and outdoor markets.

The newly refurbished former gardeners cottage, offers a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Its rooms are very spacious, airy, well lit and maintained. We strive to give each room a homely appeal. Our aim is to present a 3 star accommodation that exceeds your expectations, having ample space inside with its 3 generous sized double bedrooms, large comfortable lounge, roomy reading room, ample kitchen/dinner and utility/boot room. Outside the cottage there's a generous sized garden with its own summerhouse, and good on-site parking for three cars.

The cottage comprises of sitting room, kitchen/diner, reading room, 3 double bedrooms (1 x double bed, 1 x king size bed, 2 x single beds, cot available on request), family bathroom, boot-room with washing facilities. Own private parking, garden and summer house.

Gas central heating throughout, electric fire in sitting room, gas fire in reading room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with separate fridge/freezer, washing machine, colour TV with Free-view ( Free-view not available in this area until September 2011), DVD, radio/CD-player, books/games.

Heating, lighting and linen included in rent.

Freshly laundered towels available at a small laundry charge depending on occupancy.

Welcome complementary tea/coffee, fresh milk.
Local garage/shop, garden centre/cafe, pub within 5 min walking distance.

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Thank you for booking Highfield Cottage. We look forward to welcoming you. By making this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

BOOKINGS:

No deposit is taken from the booking form that appears on-line and no card details are held. This is purely to generate an enquiry via Visit Peak District etc.  All enquires via on-line bookings require a 24 hour response, If you are enquiring about a late booking giving less than 24 hours, for example the day before, please telephone 07896 477108 asap.

A booking using a credit card on the booking form is not a confirmed booking until you have been notified as such by the proprietor Monica Lees.

The price of the accommodation includes the following: Electricity, linen, cleaning, hot water, central heating, (Towels may be supplied if required in addition to a small laundry fee depending on requirements)

PETS

Sorry, we do not allow pets at this property.

ACCEPTANCE OF CHILDREN

We welcome children of all ages. 

CANCELLATION AND INSURANCE

By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit of 25% is non-refundable. The balance to be settled 6 to 8 weeks prior to arrival. If you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay 50% total costs, even if we have not yet received your balance.

If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid.

We do not at this moment accept card payments, and cheques must be sent to allow time for clearance.

Please Note: If you have made a late booking all monies are required upon arrival at the beginning of your stay in full, and only a cash payment may be accepted.

Please note that your deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. We would recommend that you take out cancellation insurance to cover this cost.

NON-AVAILABILITY OF ACCOMMODATION

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

ARRIVAL

Your accommodation will be available to you from 3pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as we will be busy preparing your rooms. Early arrivals may leave luggage and have the use of a cleaned room if they wish, please note however this room will not be re-cleaned.

LATE ARRIVAL PROCEDURE

Please ensure you contact us no later than 2pm to let us know if you will be arriving late.

DEPARTURE

Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. We will provide you with an invoice, payable on departure for any additional services you may have used during your stay.

DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES

Please take care when staying in our property. We ask that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but a charge will be made for excess damage or breakages.

LIABILITY

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

PRIVACY POLICY

Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computer(s). With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will not share your details with any third party. Please Note: Under no circumstances are any credit/debit card details held.
